I didn’t like the PS1 version of WCW Nitro, so I’m not expecting much from the N64 version. This is the first wrestling game for the N64 that I’ll be looking at. It might be a little strange to start with this game, but that is what I want to do. The same development teamContinue reading “WCW Nitro on the N64 is Terrible”

Fighting Force on the N64 is Great
I haven’t reviewed many games for the N64. I didn’t play many games for the system growing up. I either played games on the PC or the PS1. When I looked over the library recently, I saw that there weren’t many games in the genres I enjoy playing. I did find one, though. It is aContinue reading “Fighting Force on the N64 is Great”
Reviewing Ultimate Nintendo: A Guide to the N64 Library
Ultimate Nintendo: Guide to the N64 Library is Pat Contri’s latest book. His previous books cover the SNES and NES libraries, which I’ll write about at some point. I’m a little behind on some other projects at the moment. I was one of the Kickstarter backers for this book, so I was very excited aboutContinue reading “Reviewing Ultimate Nintendo: A Guide to the N64 Library”
The 7th Saga has Beautiful Graphics and Frustrating Gameplay
The 7th Saga is one of the many video games I tried to get into when looking for ROMs in the 1990s. Much like Paladin’s Quest, I would try to play the game, not understand it, and play something else. This time, I’m going to give it a serious try. There are some great thingsContinue reading “The 7th Saga has Beautiful Graphics and Frustrating Gameplay”
The 10 Best Creepy Horror Games on the SNES
Nintendo isn’t known for having horror games. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t horror games on Nintendo consoles; it just means that they aren’t as prominent as they are now. The SNES has several horror theme games. There were more games in Japan. These games never made it to the US for a variety ofContinue reading “The 10 Best Creepy Horror Games on the SNES”
Knights of the Round on the SNES is an Amazing Beat’em Up
Knights of the Round is a fantastic beat’em up with some RPG elements. Capcom released the game in the arcades in 1991 and ported it to the SNES in 1994. Some changes were made to the game but were understandable for the time. In some ways, the game reminds me of the Golden Axe games.Continue reading “Knights of the Round on the SNES is an Amazing Beat’em Up”
Paladin’s Quest an Excellent but Frustrating RPG
Paladin’s Quest is a game I’ve tried to get into so many times. I attempted to play this game countless times in the 1990s when I was downloading ROMs to play. This time, I played through as much of this game as I could. It has everything that I would want in an RPG. Paladin’sContinue reading “Paladin’s Quest an Excellent but Frustrating RPG”
The 10 Best Beat’em Ups on the SNES
I love a good Beat’em Up. While they can be repetitive and are better in the arcades, many were released on home consoles. They were ports of arcade games, but a few were unique to consoles like the SNES, SNES, NES, etc. I have many memories of playing these games with my friend Drew. SomeContinue reading “The 10 Best Beat’em Ups on the SNES”
Amazing to Forgotten, Konami’s Abandoned Hockey Series
Konami is a bizarre company. In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, it created many amazing and iconic games. Then, in the late 1990s, the company started to fall off as the cost of developing games rose, and the company focused on lower-cost ways of making money. Blades of Steel is one of theContinue reading “Amazing to Forgotten, Konami’s Abandoned Hockey Series”
Q*Bert on the NES, A Good Version of a Classic Game
Q*Bert is a classic arcade game from Williams. It has been ported to many systems over the years, and often, the ports struggle to get the controls right. It is a fun arcade game, and I’m hoping the NES port is decent. TLDR: A Decent Port of a Classic Arcade Game. Gameplay The gameplay isContinue reading “Q*Bert on the NES, A Good Version of a Classic Game”
