Breath of Fire III was the first PS1 game I bought. I’m not sure why I went with this game, especially since I hadn’t played the other two games in the series. There was just something about it that made me want to play it. I’m pretty sure I bought this game and a PS1Continue reading “Breath of Fire III is one of My Favorite RPGs”

The 7th Saga has Beautiful Graphics and Frustrating Gameplay
The 7th Saga is one of the many video games I tried to get into when looking for ROMs in the 1990s. Much like Paladin’s Quest, I would try to play the game, not understand it, and play something else. This time, I’m going to give it a serious try. There are some great thingsContinue reading “The 7th Saga has Beautiful Graphics and Frustrating Gameplay”
The Best Games I Played in 2023
I played a ton of great games this year. Some were better than others, and I wanted to revisit a few games. I also missed out on some fantastic games that I’ll have to look at next year. Much of the year consisted of wrestling games, shooters, and beat’em ups. I was working on aContinue reading “The Best Games I Played in 2023”
Tactics Ogre is One of the Best RPGs
The Ogre Battle Saga is divided into two sets of video games. The Ogre Battle games focus on grander stories about the big countries in the game’s world. Tactics Ogre focuses on the local conflicts and takes place on islands. The Tactics Ogre games tell more personal stories about the people who participate in war.Continue reading “Tactics Ogre is One of the Best RPGs”
Vandal Hearts: A Great RPG from the 90s
I’ve been trying to get into another retro role-playing game (RPG) for a few months. It seems like I pick one up, play for a few hours, and then forget about it as I move on to another project. Vandal Hearts is the game I finally settled on. I remember playing this game in theContinue reading “Vandal Hearts: A Great RPG from the 90s”
Sea of Stars is one of the Best RPGs
Sea of Stars is a wonderful RPG that reminds me of Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, and Super Mario RPG. It has an interesting story, fun characters, and gorgeous artwork. I like almost everything about this game. Most RPGs are built on a series of tropes. When done well, they make for a spectacular game.Continue reading “Sea of Stars is one of the Best RPGs”
Shining Force: The Start of a Great Series
Shining Force is one of the first Tactical Role-Playing Games (RPG) on a console. As far as I can tell, there were a number of them on various computers. It is one of those games I looked for when collecting games. I could have this wrong, but I feel like it was on a demoContinue reading “Shining Force: The Start of a Great Series”
Warsong, A Flawed and Extremely Frustrating Game
Warsong is a Tactical RPG for the Sega Genesis. It was originally released as Langrisser: The Descendants of Light. For some reason, the game was renamed Warsong when it was released in North America. The game is a hybrid of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars. I wouldn’t say I like it that much, and IContinue reading “Warsong, A Flawed and Extremely Frustrating Game”
My Favorite PlayStation Rental Memories
The PlayStation One was the last console that I rented games for. I vaguely remember renting games for the N64, but I don’t remember enough of them to make a list. My town then had two video rental stores; one had a huge selection, and the other was Blockbuster video. I think the first wasContinue reading “My Favorite PlayStation Rental Memories”
