Gauntlet II: A Good Sequel but Nothing New

Gauntlet II isn’t too different from the first game. The gameplay is essentially the same, the same four characters are in the game, and the graphics are mostly the same. This isn’t all that surprising given that the game was released shortly after the first in the arcades. This was a conversion kit for theContinue reading “Gauntlet II: A Good Sequel but Nothing New”

Paperboy, A Good but Not Great NES Game

I don’t remember if I’ve written about Paperboy, and since I can’t find a post that I made about the NES game, that’s where I’ll start. Ikari Warriors on the NES, Not as Good as Commando

Ikari Warriors is one of the games that I remember playing when I was in high school. A friend of mine kept describing this game as something completely different from what it was. Rampage on the NES is an Awesome Arcade Port

Rampage is one of the first NES games I remember renting. I thought it was about Godzilla and King Kong; I was also six and couldn’t read the game description. This is an arcade game, and knowing the plot isn’t important. As a kid who was into giant monster movies, I found this to beContinue reading “Rampage on the NES is an Awesome Arcade Port”

Rush’n Attack on the NES is a Decent Arcade Port

Rush’N Attack is a port of an arcade game called Green Beret. Why did they change the name? No idea, but I think it doesn’t matter all that much. The name is kind of fun and is a play on Russian Attack. I assume that is what Konami or their American office was going for.Continue reading “Rush’n Attack on the NES is a Decent Arcade Port”
