Have you ever beaten a game and wondered if you won or if the game simply stopped? That happened to me when I finished A Night on the Farm. It is an adventure horror game with multiple endings.
It is a spooky game that has a bunch of collectibles in it. You’ll need to find as many as you can on your first playthrough, as they hold the clues you need to beat the game. It can be a little frustrating at first as you wander around looking for things you can interact with.
This is a short game. I finished in about an hour. Instead of having you deal with enemies, A Night on the Farm uses atmosphere and sound effects to create tension and horror.
TLDR: A Short but Creepy Story.
Narrative
The story is very simple. It feels like the plot of a low-budget monster movie. This is going to date me a bit, but it reminds me of something you might see at a drive-in movie theater, like one of those movies made in the Philippines in the 60s and 70s.
The game starts with you in a car. Your character crashed his car and was almost killed by a fence. Why did you crash? Who are you? Where were you heading? Doesn’t matter. Get out of the car and walk towards the farmhouse. I’m guessing that you’re heading there to use the phone.
You immediately start snooping around when you get to the farm because no one is home. Once you break into the house, you learn about the people who live and work here. This isn’t just a farm; this is a research facility. You’ll also see an entity that looks like a Moth Man.
Eventually, you make your way into the facility and learn what happened to the people here. Something went wrong, and you take it upon yourself to set things right. This is where the multiple endings come in.
You’re given a few choices at the end of the game. I chose to set the entity free and got “Ending A.” I think this is the good ending. Everything worked out, and the world wasn’t destroyed, so that’s good!
It is a fun story. It’s a little creepy at times, which is a good thing for a horror game. It is possible to miss an item that explains some part of the story, which is a good reason to go back and play the game again.

Gameplay
A Night on the Farm is a simple game with minimal gameplay. You need to find items, look for clues, and solve some puzzles. Things can sometimes be a little cryptic, but it isn’t too hard to figure out what to do.
There are four keys to collect, a few key cards to pick up, and a handful of security codes. As long as you explore and look around, you’ll find what you need to finish the game. If you miss an item or do something out of order, don’t worry; you’ll still be able to finish the game. As far as I can tell, you can’t die, or at least I didn’t when I was playing.
At the end of the game, you have to solve some puzzles and answer a few questions. The puzzles can be a little vague initially as you need to press some moth icons to open doors, but you don’t know that right away. The questions you answer determine the ending you’re going to get.
You can release the entity, destroy it, or leave it alone. I released it and ended up with Ending A. It would be fun to go back and see the other endings.
The gameplay is minimal. You move around, control the camera, and use items. It is like a modern version of a point-and-click or text adventure game.

Visuals
I love the way the game looks! It feels like I’m playing a lost PS1 game. The graphics are better than that, but it reminds me of that era. A Night on the Farm looks like it could’ve been made in the late 90s or early 2000s, with a few exceptions.
The Moth Man monster looks very creepy. It reminds me of walking in the woods and seeing some red eyes in the dark. You know you’re being stalked by something, but you don’t know if it wants to hurt you.
Things get a little trippy once you get to the end of the game. I think you get transported to another dimension and have to find your way out. In the ending I got, you also meet a Moth Man. It is a weird ending sequence.
I like the graphics quite a bit. It reminds me of some of the games I grew up playing. It reminds me of Rewind or Die in some ways.
8/10. I liked this game, but it has some issues that might bother people. It is about an hour long, shorter if you know what to do and where to go, and people might not like the retro graphics. If you enjoy games like Firewatch, you’ll probably like A Night on the Farm.
Pros
- Great atmosphere
- Cool Setting
- Engaging Story
Cons
- Short
- No Action
- Might be too Easy
Conclusion
This would be a fun game to play late at night. It also has several endings, so getting all of them might be fun. A Night on the Farm also has some collectibles, which could make a 100% run interesting.
The drawbacks are that the game is easy and short, and once you know what to do, the game gets even shorter. It is still a fun game to play, and it gives you a reason to return. I didn’t find everything in my first playthrough, so finding all the little robot toys might be fun!
I like games like this. A Night on the Farm is fascinating, and it left me with a few questions that my imagination helped me to fill in the gaps. Games that make you use your imagination can be fun. It reminds me of making up my own story while playing NES games.

Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
